#387.5 - Wild Turtwig live in forests undisturbed by mankind, making their sightings out in nature very rare. These plant-based Pokemon possess a shell made of hardened soil and are capable of undertaking photosynthesis. Their diet consists mostly of wild berries, and as they age some of the seeds will be absorbed and eventually take root in their shell, where small shrubs will begin to grow. The leaf on a Turtwig’s head is a good indicator of their health, and will only wilt on a healthy Turtwig once the shrubs on their back are large enough to significantly contribute to their photosynthesis. Once they have grown larger and are more protected by their sturdy shell, they wander out of the shade and protect of forests to have better access to sunlight.
#388.5 - Grotle are naturally able to detect underground springs with the purest spring water, and as they grow larger and more capable, these gentle giants will often help other Pokemon out by carrying them to the water sources. Grotle become quite mass as they mature, and have been observed to eventually settle down by one of the springs they discovered. Their good nature remains as they grow, and as their shell gradually develops into an ecosystem of its own, some Pokemon choose to live with Grotle and Torterra by roosting in the safety of their trees. Some smaller Pokemon are born and spend their entire lives under the safety of a Torterra’s leaves. Though they migrate in search of water, creating the illusion of “moving forests”, a full grown Torterra is typically immobile.
